It is April 14, 1912 about ten p.m., our ship the Californian, has to stop for the night because we unexpectedly ran amidst a debris field of ice. We stopped because the ocean is just like a mirror, a flat calm, unlike any ever seen, making it hard to see water as it breaks against ice and ice bergs. So the captain made the decision to stop for the night, waiting on the light of day, so we can see the ocean around us.
About an hour later, we see a big luxury liner also stopped about ten miles away, we wonder what on earth is going on. We watch from our ship as we are full of curiosity. We didn't have a clue why the big liner just stopped.
Meanwhile the liner that so suddenly stopped unknown to the Californian is the RMS Titanic. She stopped because unlike the other ship, she hit an ice berg. This tragedy the result was Titanic would now live more than just two hours. As of right now no one knows the severity of what is about to happen. The ship that couldn't sink, right, it seems like God had other ideas. Never challenge the Almighty, as a lot of people did. But on this dark, cold, windless night, things are about to change and change very fast. Things that would occur on this night, would turn out to be a person's worst nightmare.
By now everything aboard the RMS Titanic is total chaos as passengers realize some of them are going to die. People are just running around crazy except for the lines of women and children waiting on one of the few life boats. Meanwhile ten miles away the Californian has no idea who the ship is or that they are in trouble. Soon the crew of the Californian sees rockets fired from Titanic and they think the luxury liner is having some kind of party. The color of the rockets should have been red to indicate distress, but the rockets that were fired were white. Some full had put the wrong rockets on board of Titanic.
The Californian so close yet so far away. The ship, Titanic tried her best to send out an SOS using Morse code, when the Californian heard how loud Titanic was, the Californian sent a message back telling her to be quiet. Titanic would turn out to be one of the worst maritime disasters in history.
Those lucky enough to get in a lifeboat watched the unbelievable scenario as Titanic was dying and going down by the head. To those that saw what a chilling scene. You have to wonder if those in the lifeboats felt guilt as they watched Titanic and fifteen hundred people die. From the lifeboats I'm sure one could hear the cries as screams of others as on this cold night, they met the grim reaper.
When Titanic sunk from view, she would not be seen again until 1985. Most thought the grave yard of Titanic was a shrine to all those that died on that awful night.
The whole time Titanic was still floating, a distress horn was wailing. If it had been carried on the wind, why didn't the Californian hear it? Soon though at 2:22 a. m., Titanic leaves the world of the living and sinks below the Atlantic ocean to a watery abyss that would become Titanic's grave.

That awful dreaded night happened one hundred years ago. For a hundred years, I have laid in this watery abyss, just waiting. Waiting to be rescued, so I could take my rightful place in history. I have watched for my rescue for all this time and I am still here alone in this watery grave yard. I have seen salvage in the debris field my sinking caused, but never has any one tried to salvage and save me.
The world above had better hurry if they want to save me, every part of me is being eaten away. A thing called barnacles attached themselves to me. They are everywhere, different shapes and sizes, some even looking like some kind of exotic art work and they are destroying what is left of me. Soon I will just be am imprint on the ocean floor. After I am gone, there will just be a traumatic memory of what occurred on me so long ago. All around me there is ocean life, this wasn't supposed to be my fate. Those that built me spared no expense.
When I was worthy of sailing, I was regal and proud. But on that horrific night, a dark and cold uninvited intruder caused my death. The intruder invaded me entire body and it was like when the intruder was through playing, a hand from the deep dark abyss, I now rest in, made a grip on my body and pulled me beneath the cold ocean until I came to rest where I have been the past century. Here in the darkness, here watching and waiting for a rescue. A rescue that would never come. Lying here two and a half miles below the surface, I can't see as well as I would like too. I'm just too far under the ocean, but when there is a disturbance around me, as I know there has been all kinds of activity near me through, not one made any attempt to actually save me. Could it be everyone thinks I am not worth a rescue? But then in the silence of my watery tomb, I start thinking, that fifteen hundred people died, that were sailing aboard me for different reasons, are they leaving me here as a shrine to those that died upon me?
Believe you me, all the time I have been here, I have had plenty of time to think and ponder over my plight. It's so ironic, I died once on that horrible night and now I am being devoured by barnacles and this is a very slow death, slow enough I can think about the inevitable. The ultimate oblivion, nothing left, just a memory of what I once was.
One hundred years since April 15,1912, years I have been in this watery abyss, in the graveyard of the Titanic, silently waiting. Do you know what it feels like to think the whole world has forgotten about you? Once I was so important, every one was impressed with me, but now I am nothing but a memory of what once was. I carried some of the richest people in the world when I sailed, but now they are all gone, as I soon shall be.
Just like the continent of Atlantis, I was engulfed by the ocean and there was nothing I could do, but they found me, but did not attempt a rescue. Wasn't I worthy enough? A century, I have been here and the sad thing is I won't be here another hundred years. I know there is no hope for me now. But I do ask everyone remember the maritime tragedy of the RMS Titanic.
